I'm Maggie Murphy, a fourth grade teacher in Allegheny County, and I cannot wait to talk to you about magnets.
So we're gonna do an experiment.
We're going to see which of the items are magnetic.
We're going to start with Popsicle sticks.
I'm gonna hold it up to my magnet and see if it's attracted, and it's not!
See, it won't stick.
I've heard that metal is magnetic.
So let's try a piece of metal with our magnet and see if it's attracted to it.
[gasps] There's one more thing that's also a magnet.
It's the world!
We have a North Pole and a South Pole just like these magnets have.
