with the lowdown on lunar lochs!

This week well get the second to
last full moon of 2020 -- a.k.a

the Beaver Moon -- because this is when our
buck-toothed friends start prepping for winter.

The full moon is a beautiful thing, but
have you ever stopped to think about

WHAT you re looking at? On the surface of the
moon are these light and dark spots called

Mare -- Latin for sea. They were erroneously
thought to be oceans by early astronomers.

Today we know Maria are plains of
volcanic basalt left from cooled

lava flows. There are about twenty Mare
so I won t list them all. BUT the Apollo

landing took place at the south end of the Sea
of Tranquility or Mare Tranquillitatis -- here!

This week, once ya ll are done scarfing
turkey and fighting about well everything

facts about our celestial satellite?
