Howdy passengers of spaceship Earth, Trace
here with your weekly ASTRONOMICAL GUIDE TO

THE SKY!

And this week is a good un -- It s the
Perseid Meteor shower!

I love meteor showers, it s a great excuse
to stay up late and lay outside on a blanket

with your family or friends.

To find the show grab a dark patch of grass
and face northeast between two and four AM.

If conditions are right, the shower will peak
at an incredible fifty to one-hundred meteors

per hour!

More than two every minute!

That is SO MANY!

You do not want to miss this one.

The Perseids shower every year as Earth pases
through the debris left from the Swift-Tuttle

comet, and they appear to emanate from the
constellation Perseus.

I like to think of it as ol Percy taking
his annual bath.

This year, the peak will be August 13 and
the moon will wane throughout the week so

you ll have a GREAT view, while you Keep
Lookin Up!
