JAMES: Three planets grace the morning skies
this month.
DEAN: We re talking about Jupiter, Mars,
and Saturn.
DEAN:
It s Monday March 5th at 5 AM, facing southeast.
Jupiter is about halfway up in the southern
sky, is super-bright, and hangs up and to
the right of Scorpius the Scorpion.
JAMES:
Just to the left of Scorpius we come to our
next planet and it should shine with a steady
reddish glow.
That is Mars.
DEAN:
Now connect a line from Jupiter through Mars
and keep going.
You will run into another pretty bright star
that should be a little yellow in color.
That is actually the ringed planet Saturn.
JAMES:
If we advance to Wednesday March 7th, look
what joins the planet line-up
DEAN: The Moon!
JAMES:
It ll be right next to Jupiter.
And then as the week progresses, on the 8th
and 9th, the Moon will get closer and closer
to Mars.
DEAN:
And on Saturday morning March 10th it will
lie between Mars and Saturn.
BOTH: Keep looking up!
