Next on the program is a piece

by the british composer
Ralph Vaughan Williams.

It's the Hodie,

this day Christ was
born on Christmas day

(speaking foreign language)

and this is a very austere
and monumental work.

The first movement
deals with that.

Then we move into, sort of
a narration by a soprano,

originally written
for a boy soloist,

followed by a big, He Shall
Be Great Emmanuel chorus,

then we segue into a
chorale, a beautiful

four-part setting
of The Blessed Son,

and then we conclude
with the famous chorus

Ring Out Ye Crystal Spheres,
Once Bless Our Human Ears.
