(Orchestral Music) (Applause) (Music) My interpretation of this version of Cinderella is really meant to be for a variety of all audiences that features brand new choreography, sets and costumes to Sergei Prokofiev's moving and enchanting music.
I think being a stepsister is so fun.
It's a lot of character, a lot of acting.
The choreography is really fun to do and it's a lot of energy.
It's a very energetic part.
You know, in the studio, it's not as easy to lose myself into the character of Prince Charming.
And here, once I put on that costume and I step on that carriage and I look at Cinderella and she's in her costume and it's just it fits the story.
And I'm able to just really dive into Prince Charming.
Joseph is constantly making changes to the choreography, even up until intermission, right before we're starting an act.
But it's our job as dancers to, like, pick it up quickly and to get it in our bodies.
Then changes just so the dancing looks cleaner and better for the stage, To dance badly on purpose.
Well, I've heard Joseph be like, you need to.
You need to be worse like, this is this is too technical.
Like you need to dance worse and like, I mean, in some in some form, like you know how to do it correctly, so then you know how to do it wrong.
But once you're used to doing it wrong and being in character, it kind of just it comes to me pretty, pretty easily.
Once it comes together like this and we can all be on the stage together, it just makes it so much more worth it.
I really love that Joseph really thinks about all the details.
It's an incredible and rare opportunity for student to get to perform a work of this magnitude on this scale with these beautiful sets, beautiful costumes and all tailor made according to their strengths.
The choreography is just beautiful, the costumes are beautiful.
And once we get here and like, watching it all, just come together has really been an incredible experience.
The pacing of this ballet is such that it allows for all kinds of emotion.
There's comedy, there's drama, there's romance, and you see the journey going from a cemetery to the very end of the ballet, where you arrive at a castle with butterflies and bubbles and magic.
And my one hope is that it says to people that great things are possible, great things can happen.
